Around the World with BA

This is an ideal situation - someone tells you that you get an all expenses paid vacation. Airfare is covered. Your hotel is booked. Your time off is approved. Where in the world would you go right now?

We asked our staff at Big Adventures this question, and here's what they said!

Tammy, Director of Travel Services

Bike Tour of Croatia

"I have plenty of places on my bucket list to visit! For late August into September, I would choose to go to Croatia! I have heard how beautiful it is and people say the coast is an absolute must. Since I haven't been before, a bike tour along the coast seems like a perfect opportunity to explore this beautiful country. In addition, this time of year would be great as well since the temperatures are starting to cool a slightly but it would still be warm enough to enough swimming as well."

Tammy's journey would begin in Split, and end in Dubrovnik, taking her down the picturesque Dalmatian Coast.

Allison, President

Cape Town, South Africa

"Cape Town, South Africa is one of my favorite places. It's a beautiful destination with plenty of adventure. Climbing Table Mountain, right on the ocean, is a thrill. It's the southernmost part of Africa, with the Cape of Good Hope. Rich History. Wine country. Market downtown. Game lodges, and a well preserved penguin colony. Plus, great weather doesn't hurt either. 😊"

Megan, Travel Designer

Fuengirola, Spain

“My pick is Fuengirola, Spain. It’s great for families or a solo getaway. Bioparc Fuengirola, a naturalistic zoo, Sohail castle, water parks, beaches, and shopping are just a few of the draws. Exploring the plaza and walking the streets are a dream, and I love that you never have to walk more than a few minutes to get great food.”

“I would go to Scotland so fast! Especially the Highlands - I've never seen anything so completely mesmerizing and beautiful. And the hiking there is such a cool experience. Plus, the people were so incredibly nice and happy and servant-hearted!”

Brandon, Outfitter Store Manager

Morocco

"I got the chance to visit Morocco for the first time last year and would gladly go back. The big thing that stood out to me was how welcomed I felt everywhere I went. The people were incredibly hospitable. Morocco is a beautiful country. You get both incredible beaches and mountains. That meant I could hike and go surfing all in the same day."

Kelsey, Marketing Manager

Switzerland

"I've always wanted to visit Switzerland since I read about it as a kid. Something about it has always appealed to me. Walking down the streets of Zurich or Geneva or Basel, and ducking in local bakeries for fresh pastries or Toblerone. Hiking in the Alps would be a dream, or standing on the shores of Lake Geneva. I also wouldn't mind trying my hand at the Mountain Coaster in Kandersteg."
